Electrolysis is a progressive hair removal technique in which we apply a current to the hair follicle.  I know what you are thinking, a current??? Yes, the current targets the cells that produce hair and when applied the goal is to permanently destroy those cells.  This isn't a one treatment approach, it requires multiple treatments and depending on your skin, healing time, health can take some time.  

Since we are using a current, many clients wonder if it will hurt.  The answer is, it will be uncomfortable but the level varies from person to person as well as the area being treated.  I've had clients who compared it to a Brazilian wax and others say it's more comfortable then laser.  Did I mention the end result is permanent, that means no more hair (insert happy dance)!

• The night before your appointment drink plenty of water.  Ideally, half your body weight in ounces but I'll settle for 64 ounces.
• Grow 3-5 days of hair growth, if I can't see it I can't grab it.  Note: For consultations, there is a sample treatment and so we will not clear out the entire area(s).  However, we can discuss adding time at the end of the consultation if there is space.  Otherwise you will need to treat the area at home (we'll discuss how) until your next appointment.
• Avoid retinols and glycolic-based products the night before treatment as these could cause the skin to be more sensitive.
• If the skin is inflamed or if there are any cold-sores, lesions, etc. I will avoid treating those areas.
• Clients currently undergoing chemotherapy, pregnant, auto-immune disorders, pacemakers, other conditions discovered during the consultation or appointments a doctor's note will be required in order to continue the service.
• Always use sunscreen.  Whether receiving electrolysis or not, sunscreen is an essential part of skin health.
